What should we do in case of a road accident?

Call the Road Traffic Police or the Police
Especially when there are injured persons, when the cost of material damages is large or if you believe you are going to have problems with the other/others involved driver/drivers (e.g. you believe the other driver is drunk or does not hold a driver's license). Upon arrival of the Road Traffic Police, do not forget to write down the names of the policemen, the police department they belong to, for potential questions or details that might arise later.
-
Inform your Insurance Company
You have the obligation to inform your insurance company and fill in an accident solemn report within 5 days from the day of the accident. The Claims Department of each Company will notify you regarding the necessary procedures, according to it's approach. -
Your vehicle must be inspected by an expert prior to any repair.
The insurance company of the liable driver must send you an expert within a reasonable period of time (in case of an Amicable Settlement, your insurance company (of the non-liable party) must send an expert). It is advisable the repair shop and the expert to have agreed in advance the cost of repair, prior to the repair of your vehicle.

Road Accident Amicable Settlement Statement
In case of a road accident, it's best to use the Special Amicable Settlement Form (Road Accident Report), that you can download and print now. The Amicable Settlement is used in order to expedite and simplify the claims procedure, exclusively for the damages of the non-liable insured person and does not involve damages to material articles (e.g. house fencing and others).
Fill in the Amicable Settlement Statement with the other involved person, answer the questions of the form, but do not state liability.
It is noted that the cost of repairing the material damages must not exceed the amount of €6,500 €, the amount of bodily injuries the sum of €12,000 per injured person (driver and passengers of non-liable vehicle) and the amount of €30,000 in total.
Also, you must keep in mind the following:
· The accident must concern only two vehicles from insurance companies - even from the same company - participating in the amicable settlement system (you can find below a table with the member companies for 2015;
· The accident must have occurred within Greek territories;
· The Road Accident Amicable Settlement Form must be filled in and signed by both drivers. If this is not the case, you may ask to be included in the amicable settlement system subsequently, after consultation between the two insurance companies.

USEFUL TIP Consult your Insurance Company before making any
Statement
We recommend that you do not state, in any case, that you caused the accident and that you are liable, neither orally nor in written (in the accident report), even if you have to pay a fine (violation of the highway code). It is known that someone who has suffered a psychological shock (that may occur after an accident) cannot judge and think clearly and loses out. To that end, it's best to first consult your Insurance Company before doing or saying anything. If the other party exercises any pressure on you, contact the Road Traffic Police or the Accident Care. If none of the above is accepted and they exercise pressure on your, state that you assume the responsibility to notify your insurance company and nothing further.
You should check whether you are covered for Glass Breakage.
If YES, then call at 210-6776111, choose DAMAGES and then GLASS BREAKAGE.
Our partners will inform you on the nearest shop you can contact for
replacing the glasses. Other direct lines: Carglass 211 12 08 188 - Glass
